I love to learn. Now, I am not puffing my chest, but I just love it. I enjoy learning about nearly everything. I have a hard time relating to anyone that is just simply curious about something.
The willingness to learn may become a more useful skill in the future job market. The days of a linear career path may be over. Go to school, get smart, get a job, never change jobs- likely will not hold up in today’s job market.
Go to school, go to work, go to school, go to work, change industries, get training, etc. We may see more learning in the future. Longer lives compliment changing career paths several times; capitalizing on the thought of “why would I want to do something I don’t like for a long time”.
I think the messiness of life convinces us that we don’t have the energy to learn. You are not too old, you my be wise with experience, but I promise you don’t know everything. Start small. Ask one question a day about the world that surrounds you. Challenge yourself to read a page a day.
What is your plan for learn something new? Don’t be afraid and resistant. Turn off the devices that kill ambition and get after using that melon.
